Pretty cardigan

This is such a pretty look, a soft cardigan over a short nightdress in white. It's so romantic.

More tartan.......with mohair

It's a look that epitomises the Punk Rock movement in the UK in the late seventies. It's still a favourite look for doll clothing makers.

This style of jumper evens turns up in a Rowan Knitting Magazine - "Vintage Knits" !

Close Clipped Sheep ~ Momoko

I like this new range for Momoko from Petworks. The fine knitwear is just fab. I like the styling and the layering.

Green ribby sweater

I also like rib-knits in green. This was a jumper that I wanted for my Sindys but never did get.

White ribby sweaters, tartan and berets!

There's something about cream or winter white ribby sweaters on dolls. I love them.

Sindy favourites again - 1966 "Casual Moments" - "to top a casual skirt Sindy chooses her crew-necked, short sleeved knitted white jumper with ribbed finish."
There was a long sleeved white polo neck sweater in the Sindy "Winter Holiday" set.
When I collected fashion dolls a favourite was the cream ribbed sweater from Alex "Editor in Chief".

I love them on dolls but not on me.

This set of cream ribbed jumper, matching legwarmers and red tartan skirt was made for 12" dolls but I can't remember the maker's name. It's similar to Sindy's Highland Lass outfit.

sindy Printemps 03

A lot of my favourite patterns in this last picture - tartan, argyle, rib, houndstooth and turquoise gingham.

The next picture is another great combination - classic!

Classic!

These Cissy outfits are by Pamdora. I bought quite a few items from her when I was collecting Cissy.

I love this look of a plain cream sweater teamed with a herringbone tweed skirt.

And the green cardigan over this fabulous green checked dress.

I must get knitting.

The crochet cloche

There was a revival of knitting and crochet as a craft pursuit in the mid 70's and lots of magazines had patterns for the crochet cloche, especially after Abba won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974.

My dolly crochet cloche first appeared in 2003, part of the Seventie's Strut Cissy doll set. I loved this hat with its big red flowers and have tried it on lots of dolls since. Rin and Blythe were the first to try it.

2004 and Fleur looks beautiful in it. It looks fab over Cissy's orange hair too.
And here is Candy wearing it today.

Ugli-Knits

Came across these pictures of Karen's hats. I bought both of these.
