Pic of the Day: Scottie!

I'm lazy and still haven't made Scottie a winter sweater. Instead she is borrowing one I bought for a Tyler doll aeons ago. The marshmallow teacake was sickly sweet!

A terrible picture of the Tylers and Alex walking their dogs!

My Eco-Alien

Seina was my first ever ball jointed doll (BJD) and arrived here 3 years ago today. I ordered her through Crescent on the 24th October 2002 and was told there would probably be a 3 month wait and yet one month later Masamichi emailed to say she was ready to send. I was so excited but I didn't have any clothes ready for her, even her default outfit was delayed - the doll was ready but not her clothes. I dressed her in a cut down sock - poor baby! Later on I found Bobo'n'doll and bought quite a few pieces, I love Bobo's stuff so much.

Seina still has her original face with it's molded eyebrows and lashes - they are really pale and are such a part of her, I think she is beautiful.

Yesterday I took her apart and cleaned her, she was very grubby especially her hands. Today we took her out to Holywells Park - hard to believe it's in the middle of a town, so quiet and beautiful. We were the only ones there!! I love this time of year best of all - the colours, the weather.

Her armwarmers and bag are hand-knitted by me.

Little Brown Jumper

The last post reminded me about this brown jumper made by Bobondolls. It has been a favourite over the years, worn by lots of different dolls.

Toys!

I bought these 2 books in town this morning and Seina is helping me choose projects. There's a fab monkey (a friend would love this) in "Toys to Knit" and a starfish (funny) - and the ballerina on the cover is so cute. I love knitted rag dolls and their wardrobe of clothes.

Nifty Fifties

I am fond of fifties fashions and adore these little beaded cardigans.

A favourite piece

This jacket (made by Magalie Dawson) is a favourite. It's been made from a sweater and has some very interesting stitchwork - moss stitch, cabling, basket stitch.

It's a great shape too, with the peplum skirt and is an ideal length for a jacket. I also love the colour.

The matching hat is wonderful, especially with the rose detail.

I'd like to try and hand-knit this style sometime, with these stitches too. Maybe a bigger version for my taller dolls.
