A blast from the past.

Came across this photo today - (not mine) - of a Chesca sweater.
I like the contrasting sleeves with the cabled body.

A Winter's Day.

A bright Wintery day and Dimity keeps out the cold wearing her warm scarf over this fab sweater by Gill.

I really like these neutral colours on her.

I've had this sweater quite a while now. Here it is in 2005 being worn by Alex.

Lisette for dolls

This cardigan is based on Lisette from Rowan Magazine #36. I used Dyed in the Wool Fusion 4-ply Alpaca/wool mix in Clover. Size 3mm needles. I started it on 18th November and finished it on 20th November.

Here is Sinéad wearing it at a dolly meet.

Beatnik

Sinéad's a beatnik. I always had my suspicions!

Yummy, Hepburn style black with black.

Gorgeous brown stripes. Very seventies.

The result - good!

And here are snaps from the doll meet and Kalia's new hoody fits!

I also made Flynn a couple of scarves and Kalia is wearing one here.

This is the other scarf - a curly whirly one made in kidsilk haze.

Hooded top

I wanted to make Flynn something, he's been so good with giving me extra stuff when I've bought clothes etc from him. We are meeting this weekend so I just have enough time to knit this top. I'm using a pattern from Rowan Magazine #27 - STRIKE - and am scaling it down to fit a 60cm tall doll.

I'm using size 14 and size 12 needles and a 4-ply lambswool and silk mix in colour Blarney.

Strike!

Here is Seina modelling it so I think it will fit Kalia.

Argyle

I think this an Ajumapama outfit. I love the loose argyle and the hat with its pom-poms.

I have some Rowan kid silk and wonder if I can make a similar one.

Celery and Mango

I like the look of the hoodie.

That plain old hoody again!

Here's another picture of the plain hoody - Phoebe doesn't change her clothes much!
It's Spring and they are both dressed for Winter. Tsk!

Brown cardigan

Not my photo - a picture found on Flickr by Jillybug. I just love brown knitwear for dolls. This little Blythe is fab.

Free pattern

A free pattern from Dollswest. This is based on a Stefanie Japel pattern in "Fitted Knits".

Saturday, 5 April 2008

Plain hoody with kangaroo pocket.

The grey hoodie I made years ago has always been a favourite shape so I decided to try and make one properly MSD sized. I started from scratch using size 2mm needles and Rowanspun 4-ply wool in colour Rumtoft. I made the pocket an integral part rather then sewing in separately and grafted the shoulders together. I started it on April 1st and finished it on April 4th.
And then didn't take a decent picture of it! Phoebe wore it to a doll meet the next day and this picture was taken there (not by me) - I cropped her head off because it was at a very strange angle!

Cosy knitwear.

Stripes and cables continue to be favourites.

The Beret - Fail !

Hmmmmmmmm..............this was supposed to be a Petite sized beret, similar to the Tonner ones but it isn't. I used J&S lace-weight Shetland on size 15 needles and it came out too small. The ridge is supposed to be a fold line! Oh well, Dimity gets a beanie of sorts!

"Will you ever finish this?"

I started this sweater at the end of 2006 - finished the back and 2 sleeves. Only the front to do but it's that thin mohair that's slowing me up!

knit: "will you ever finish this?"

Snuggles

Sinéad is all snuggly in her over-sized Custom House mohair coat.

An Ugli-Knit and a ball of yarn.

Sinéad wears another UgliKnit hat in luscious mulberry with purple sequins.

I have 2 skeins of this Noro Blossom and want to make a jacket.

knit: "make me a jacket, please?"
